Privacy Policy

The Salty Dawg Sailing Association (SDSA) places a high priority on protecting the privacy of our members and website users. This policy explains what types of information is collected by the SDSA,, and how this information is used.

SDSA members and individuals that sign up to receive SDSA e-communications voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name and e-mail address). We use this information for specific, limited purposes to keep you up to date on what’s new in SDSA.

Those who sign up for a rally and/or join the SDSA will voluntarily provide contact information that may be shared with other vessels in the fleet or with other SDSA Members. Access to such information will be through a password-protected web site portal. The password will only be shared with others in the fleet or other SDSA Members.

You may always "opt out," either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive our messages or do not want your contact information shared with others in the rally fleet or with other SDSA Members. Please make changes in your SDSA profile or contact [email protected] to opt out.

The SDSA does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization. The SDSA will make best efforts to prevent those with password-protected access to the contact information from using the information for commercial or any other mass marketing purpose.  Individuals participating in rallies or events with SDSA have access to emails for the other participants.  However, beyond contacting selected participants, any correspondence with the fleet at large must be conducted through the executive director.

Many SDSA emails are sent using an email marketing service called Member Clicks. Member Clicks adheres to a privacy policy designed to protect your contact information. Click here for further details.

The SDSA web site includes links to external websites. These links do not fall under the SDSA domain, and the SDSA is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites. Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.

We may amend this privacy policy from time to time; please review it periodically. We maintain the option to modify this privacy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website. Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
Use of Images
From time to time, the SDSA publishes images of its event participants. "Copyright-free" images are provided by organization volunteers for use in SDSA communications.
SDSA members and individuals that sign up to participate in events acknowledge the right of the SDSA to publish images and to reproduce them in any of its printed and online publications (such as newsletters, websites, social media posts and blog posts). If you do not wish to have images of yourself used in SDSA communications, please contact [email protected] to opt out.
