When did you join the Salty Dawgs? About two years ago when I started planning the journey south on recommendation of Marvin McGee

Which rallies or rendezvous have you joined?  This year's Caribbean Rally will be my first although, in May, I sailed back from DR with a Salty Dawg - John Hagen

Most memorable Salty Dawgs moment.  As a new member I think my best memory to date is meeting other Salty Dawgs while underway and how open and sharing they all are.  That and my Mentor Jay who has been great!

What have you gained from being part of the Salty Dawgs?  Instant friend with every Salty Dawg I meet and a profound willingness to share their knowledge. It really is priceless.

Any major boat projects currently underway?  I’ve done a bunch of upgrades and am working out the bugs.  Here are a few from bow to stern… New anchor chain and gypsy. Dyneema preventer, lithium and management system, GPS, AIS and VHF.  Rainman watermarker. Life raft, ditch bag with EPIRB, Davits, solar and the list goes on.

What are your sailing plans for the next 6-12 months?  We are making our way to Hampton Yacht Club to join the Rally to the Bahamas. Then we will sail up the thorny path, mostly at night through the different islands to meet my wife and daughter for Christmas likely in Antigua or St Martin.  My two sons are with me.  Next summer we will leave the boat in Grenada and make our way back to Canada the following year… unless we love it so much we decide to stay in The islands longer.
