Bermuda Is Calling

Bermuda is a great place to visit as a sailor.  Everyone you meet in port has arrived after a multi-day passage from far off places. A short Bermuda stop can break up the long passage into two shorter segments, and can allow for reprovisioning, refueling, rest and crew changes.  For spring 2025, a number of activities are planned for our rally boats converging on Bermuda, including arrival happy hours, a day visit to Trunk Island, and several evening events in St. George's.  Vessels intending to stop in Bermuda as part of our spring rallies will also benefit from a waiver of the Bermuda transit permit requirements and if there is enough demand, duty free fuel availability in St. George's.
Boats that are considering a Bermuda stopover during the Homeward Bound Rally who wish to have continuous and free support as part of their rally fee, should be aware of the following policies and precautions:
For continued inclusion in the Homeward Bound Rally beyond Bermuda, if you decide to stop in Bermuda, you will need to (i) have departed from a HBR departure port during the first favorable weather window (as determined by rally organizers with input from Chris Parker) after the Rally start date and (ii) depart Bermuda during the first favorable weather window (as determined by rally organizers with input from Chris Parker) after a no more than 3-day stay in Bermuda  This policy is in place because our Shoreside Tracking and Emergency Support crews are all volunteers and thus a limited resource, and also because MWXC cannot provide weather routing indefinitely.

Therefore, if you are considering participating in Bermuda events longer than three days, we strongly encourage you simply to extend Chris Parker's weather services on your own, by visiting the MWXC website and opting into a few added days of service.
