Two prominent options for international sailing certification are the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) and the NauticEd Sailing License and Credentials (SLC™). The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) The ICC is a widely recognized sailing license that conforms to Resolution 40 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Many Mediterranean countries, including Italy, Greece, Croatia, Spain, and France, either require or strongly recommend the ICC. Obtaining the ICC: The process of obtaining an ICC can vary depending on your nationality. If you're a citizen of a country that has adopted Resolution 40, you'll typically For US and Canadian citizens, the path to obtaining an ICC can be a bit more complex, as the US and Canada have not adopted Resolution 40.
